4 Wheel Drive Binding When Turning

If they do you have a sticky solenoid.
4 wheel drive binding when turning. Binding in 4 wheel drive ip. 4 wheel drive locks up when turning this effect causes your vehicle to under steer heavily gears to get jammed and makes steering very difficult and even jerky. If the truck has a locking posi rear end and the clutches locking pawl are engaged the rear end will bind crow hop on a turn. From the description i m thinking t case clutches.

Here is a weird one for ya. If they don t lower the vehicle and drive it around until the binding noise goes away. When you hear a grinding sound when turning in 4 wheel drive means you are experiencing drivetrain binding. If you are driving on loose gravel and it s binding but still need 4wd just try to avoid sharp hard over turning to reduce the binding and save your system.
When i have my 2000 3 9l 4x4 dakota sport reg cab in 4 wheel drive 4 high i get an incredible amount of binding in the front end during corners. Jack the vehicle up again and see if the front tires spin freely. Fact is that you can not use part time 4wd on dry high traction surfaces. Feels like someone left the emergency brake on.
